[Onboard Hospitality]: Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will have new First and Business Class seats as part of the new SWISS Senses cabin concept on its Airbus A350-900.

SWISS anticipates taking delivery of the first of its new A350-900s in October. It will be the first aircraft in the airline’s long-haul fleet to be equipped with SWISS Senses cabins.

SWISS Senses represents a redesign of the entire aircraft cabin. Conveying a sense of cosiness and comfort, the new interior features a colour scheme with warm and muted tones such as claret, anthracite and beige.

The SWISS First cabin and parts of SWISS Business feature the airline’s first-ever use of suite seating arrangements.

Human-centric lighting is another factor, to help travellers better cope with jet lag.

Its state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system offers larger screens and the option of connecting personal electronic devices in all seating classes.

The new SWISS First suites offer occupants total privacy with closable sliding doors, a spacious personal wardrobe, a large seat table, seat heating and cooling, a wireless charging station and a screen display as wide as the suite itself.

The cabin’s centre suite can be configured for two people travelling together.

A spacious new washroom has been developed for the First class cabin. Inspired by the thermal spring at Vals in Canton Graubünden, it has a slate-black exterior and a green interior.

The redesigned SWISS Business cabin has ‘classic’ Business class seats as well as seating that can be closed with a sliding door for additional privacy. All seats are designed to convert into a totally lie-flat beds with lengths of up to 2.2 metres.

The Business seats feature seat heating and cooling, and a wireless charging station.
