Fiji Airways Launches New Menu, Service Model in Business Class

Fiji Airways, which became the 15th full member of the oneworld alliance back in March, has unveiled a Pacific Rim-inspired menu for business-class passengers as well as introducing a “Dine on Demand” service model in the cabin for the first time.
The new dishes focus on local, sustainably sourced Fijian ingredients. Starters consist of grilled mahi mahi with prawn chilli oil, a corn coriander cake and lime marmalade; and hamachi crudo with octopus and ponzu, Fijian sea grapes (nama) and herbs. Mains include a Fijian chicken curry or roasted cauliflower with Pacific greens and garlic cream. For dessert, passengers can choose from salted chocolate crème with pistachio and caramelised banana and a kumquat cheesecake.
Each is freshly finished and plated onboard by cabin crew that have received culinary service training to ensure restaurant-quality presentation. Tables are adorned with a handcrafted Vau flower made in Fiji and bone china dinnerware atop white cotton tablecloths.
Further enhancements to Fiji Airways’ in-flight service in business class include the availability of cold-pressed juices made in Fiji using local tropical fruits and vegetables; artisanal Fijiana Cacao chocolate, which is paired with tea and coffee; a signature series of cocktails and mocktails such as the “Hugo Zero” and “Hugo Blue Turtle” featuring locally distilled Blue Turtle Gin Fiji and Fijian Bati Rum; and a newly curated wine list highlighting premium varieties from New Zealand, Australia, and California. Cabin crew also receive wine training.
“Fijian hospitality is at the heart of what we do”
– Andre Viljoen, Fiji Airways
The nature of the “Dine on Demand” service means travelers can decide what they want to eat and when they want to eat it. After an initial launch on select long-haul flights, both the new menu and “Dine on Demand” model will be rolled out across Fiji Airways’ network by July 2026.
Economy class has also seen updated meal options, a new mocktail and cocktail offering, hot chocolate and new snack and beverage choices available throughout the journey.
“Fijian hospitality is at the heart of what we do” said Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director Andre Viljoen. “This next chapter elevates that promise […] We’re delivering a fine-dining restaurant-quality experience in the sky – one that is authentically Fijian, thoughtfully crafted, and aligned with the evolving needs of today’s traveler.”
The upgrade is the latest in a range of changes to Fiji Airways’ in-flight service as it vies for a spot as one of the world’s best airlines. As part of its “World Class Experience,” which includes the new Pacific Rim-inspired menu, it offers “deconstructed amenities” in partnership with Italian skincare brand Beauty Thinkers alongside new Samsonite amenity kits created together with FORMIA and rolled out in December 2024.
