Focus on…inflight cheese on Middle Eastern airlines – Onboard Hospitality

[Onboard Hospitality]: The Middle East continues to be a dynamic hub for culinary innovation and this is increasingly reflected in inflight dining expectations. Travellers are seeking more than a traditional cheese board. They want a cheese experience.
Among Middle Eastern passengers, there is a distinct emphasis on quality and variety above all else. Rather than favouring a narrow selection, passengers from the region welcome the opportunity to explore a wide range of cheeses. To meet this demand, our cheese programme rotates a mix of artisanal styles sourced from across the globe.
The key here is elevation and cheese is an item which has now become synonymous with luxury. As premium quality is clearly important, we partner with a broad network of specialist producers to ensure that quality cheeses are presented when and where required.
Careful sourcing
We do need to be conscious of halal dietary restrictions, so work exclusively with trusted partners to source halal-certified cheeses, ensuring compliance not only with halal standards but also with our own uncompromising quality criteria.
Careful sourcing is fundamental, and thanks to our extensive network of producers, we are able to deliver a wide range of halal products.
Story boards
Airlines are asking for their customers to be able to tap into the story and authenticity of their foods. Part of that is to have a knowledgeable crew who have experience with the products. We run two-day workshops with Emirates which explore flavour, tasting notes and the history of different cheeses. The crew also get to try them, so that they can talk to passengers about what they are eating, with confidence.
