New to the EXPO floor will be Technology Features displaying some of the industry’s most influential players discussing strategies, examining the future of air travel and sharing insights on how inflight service plays a key role into the passenger experience. Sessions will take place at the Hynes Convention Center, Exhibit Hall B. 

The Influence of Augmented Reality & Machine Learning

Tuesday 25 September 2018 | 11:00am-11:30am

Take a step into the future to explore how augmented reality in galley preparation drives efficiency automation and increases precision dramatically.  For example, AR glasses are put on during galley prep similarly to how gloves are put on, then taken off after prep.  Currently antiquated print-outs are used to display how every meal is supposed to look.  Augmented reality could be leveraged to display meals while also taking into consideration real-time updates including inventory changes to due availability or recalls, new announcements, or featured items, while providing step-by-step instructions.

Lisa Bauer

Delta Airlines, Vice President - Onboard Services

Lisa Bauer joined Delta in October of 2016.  She is responsible for elevating the onboard customer experience, including the culinary offerings, inflight amenities and flight attendant engagement and procedures.  She and her team also oversee the global catering operations across 160 kitchens around the globe.

Prior to joining Delta, Lisa was the Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Chief Operating Office for International Cruise & Excursions, Inc. (ICE), a global travel and leisure company with a worldwide network of innovative travel alliances.  Lisa led the company’s global operations focusing on and driving companywide operational excellence throughout its sales, marketing and client services and delivering best-in-class service to ICE’s business partners and clients worldwide.

Throughout her career Bauer has been involved in many charitable causes, including serving on the boards of the Grand Bahamas Island Tourism Board, the Greater Milwaukee Open – PGA tour event, the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum and served as the president of the board for the Make-A-Wish foundation of Southern Florida.  Among numerous honors received, Bauer was selected as one of the most powerful women in travel by Travel Agent Magazine. 

Max Coppin

Google, Partner Development Manager

With over a decade in the industry, Max coordinates Google’s engagement with a range of Android Partners. Max is currently working with a number of In-Flight Entertainment providers and other travel partners to bring Android and the Google experience to the passenger. Max earned a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering and lives in the San Francisco Bay area.

Chef Matthew Farrell

gategroup, American Airlines Customer Dedicated Executive Chef

Matthew Farrell is a young gastronomic talent with 10 years’ experience working in various aspects of the culinary industry.

Raised outside Chicago, Matt’s culinary style is driven by modern American cuisine, with a foundation of classic French technique which he trained and developed at the Culinary Institute of America Greystone located in Napa Valley, California. With an additional degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Matt fuses technical methods into his innovative design. His new American style is greatly influenced from his time at various Michelin starred farm-to-table restaurants across the country including The Inn in Little Washington.

Matt joined Gate Gourmet in 2014 as the Executive Chef at their Chicago O’hare Airport catering facility – one of American Airlines’ key hub locations – where he successfully led the culinary team as well as collaborated with Gate’s larger menu design efforts for their global markets. Most recently, Matt was named the Customer Dedicated Executive Chef to American Airlines for gategroup. Through this role, he has global responsibilities for all American Airlines catering operations and culinary innovation related to this strategic account.

Matt enjoys discovering contemporary restaurants, seeking new ingredients on his travels across the globe, and translating them into his unique culinary philosophy.

Kimberly Guanci- Dylewski

Campione d'Italia Foods, CEO 

As CEO of Campione D'Italia Foods, LLC, Kimberly is responsible for overseeing Campione’s manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles, CA and manufacturing and distribution operations in Henderson, NV.   Kimberly has been in the food industry since 1994 and is familiar with all aspects of food manufacturing and distribution.  Her passion is being part of the team that designs Campione’s products for retail, foodservice and airline customers worldwide.

Kimberly is a Past Chair and committee member of the Planning Committee for the International Flight Services Association (IFSA).  In the role of chair and committee member for IFSA she has served on the education, marketing and F&B committees for the trade show.   

Proud to be involved with many nonprofits over the years Kimberly has served on the Junior League of Los Angeles Board of Directors for three years where she has served as Vice President directing Strategic Planning, Membership Director and Training Director for over 1200 league members and is currently serving as an advisor to the Vice President and part of the Management Council.  Kimberly has extensive experience in nonprofit management, including skills in board development, strategic planning, fund development, organizational development and marketing for nonprofits.

Kimberly is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling and Communicative Disorders.

Dr. Stathis Kefallonitis 

President and Founder,

Stathis is the President of consulting & the co-founder of noesis laboratories. His work focuses on customer engagement, experiential marketing and biometric data use. He has directed projects with air transport regulators, catering and onboard hospitality providers, and numerous airlines and airports. He has a proven track record of facilitating workshops, seminars and conference presentations in partnership with gateroup, IATA, WTCE, the Passenger Experience Conference, APEX, and IFSA. He has authored several aviation textbooks and is a regular contributor to air transport business publications. Stathis was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce (RSA), and a Fellow of the Royal Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). He holds a Ph.D. in aviation marketing from Cranfield University and postgraduate degrees from Cornell University & University of London. 

Stephen Kingsley

Managing Director of Flight Service Food & Beverage, American Airlines, Inc.

Stephen Kingsley is a thirty six year airline veteran who has served in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility in the onboard and flight service divisions since joining the industry in 1982. He was named Managing Director of Flight Service Food & Beverage for American Airlines in December 2013.  In his current role, he has responsibility for all aspects of Americans’ Food & Beverage programs including product planning, onboard retail, catering equipment, logistics & systems as well as operational performance. He was the architect for Americans highly successful strategy to integrate global Food & Beverage operations with       US Airways. He is currently an officer and on the board of directors for the International Flight Services Association (IFSA) and serves as a member of the association’s executive committee. 

Stephen has a Master of Business Administration degree from Queens University, Charlotte, North Carolina. He and his wife, Heather, currently reside in Frisco, Texas with their two boys Christopher and Jordan.  

Christopher Kinsella

GateGourmet, Vice President, Sales and Service & Global Account Director

With more than 18 years of management experience in the airline catering industry, Chris was appointed Vice President, Sales and Service for Gate Gourmet in November 2012.  Currently, Chris has global responsibilities for key strategic airline accounts for the gategroup with further duties as the Global Account Director (GAD) supporting and coordinating activities alongside gategroup’s brands. 

Over the course of his career, Chris has held various leadership roles for the group in customer sales and service, operations management, project management, process improvement, business planning & analysis, and contributed on a number of facility start-ups, and large, new business transitions.

Chris was raised in New York City, NY and - Western Massachusetts.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Restaurant and Resort Management from Colorado State University.  Chris began his career with Gate Gourmet in June 2000 and has been a member of the IFSA Board of Directors for the last four years.He is currently based in Los Angeles, California.
