Open Call for Mentors and Mentees: Don’t Miss Out on a Great Industry Opportunity


The IFSA Mentorship Program is designed to bring experienced members of the inflight services industry together with junior members who are interested in further career development.  The four month program is a wonderful opportunity for senior members of the industry to give back and develop the industry.  In turn, it is a great opportunity for junior members to gain valuable career guidance and a framework for career planning through a one-on-one partnership with a seasoned professional.

GAEC Update: What You Need to Know about EU Labeling


Does the EU allergen labeling regulation specifically mention transportation companies? Does each EU state have the ability to request specific items? The IFSA Government Affairs and Education Committee (GAEC) Subgroup recently confirmed the answers to these questions and more at their meeting Frankfurt, Germany at the LSG Sky Chefs Headquarters, on April 23 and 24.

The meeting featured a roundtable discussion with eight EU Caterers, three US airlines, one supplier and several IFSA GAEC members on how the industry could work together to implement the EU labeling regulation.

Next steps being considered by IFSA’s GAEC from the productive meeting include creating:

  • Standard process or approach for presenting the information
  • Bullet point sheet for suppliers, caterers and airlines to assist in training & procedures
  • Question & Answer document

Another Successful IFSA Board Meeting

On 19-20 May, IFSA's Board of Directors met in Atlanta, Georgia to discuss current programs and activities, the strategic direction of the organization and the key values of IFSA. Additionally, a number of IFSA's committees met in April and May, including the Ideation Committee, Communications Advisory Committee, Membership Task Force, Annual Meeting Planning Committee and Government Affairs and Education Committee. More details about the recent Board and committee meetings will be available soon.

We want to thank all our volunteer members for their continued hard work throughout the year.

IFSA Regional Networking Events

On 4 May, IFSA held its first ever regional networking event in Los Angeles, California. Members have expressed their support for more regional networking events this year. Planning is currently underway for another event. Check back for more updates.

We have done this to streamline the conference schedule and help attendees get the most out of their time in Portland.
