IFSA Mentorship Program: Mentees Wanted

Encourage your coworkers to apply by 12 March! The IFSA Mentorship Program is a new global initiative, designed to bring experienced members of the inflight services industry together with junior members who are interested in further career development. Please look within your organization and encourage your highly motivated professionals (5 years or less experience) to submit their enrollment form. 

IFSA Foundation: Apply for 2015 Scholarship Awards

The International Flight Services Association Foundation offers multiple scholarships to help students and current onboard services professionals further their education. The Foundation Scholarships are awards given to exceptional students. They cover tuition, books, living expenses and associated costs with college. The scholarships are available to students across the globe.

This year, the IFSA Foundation has over $82,000 in scholarship awards available:

Completed applications must be submitted by April 20, 2015 to be considered for the scholarships.

GAEC Update

The GAEC will meet the first week of March in Washington D.C. and will receive updates from the FDA and USDA. These updates will be posted on the IFSA Food Safety page. Check back for more info.

IFSA Website Relaunched

We have relaunched the new and improved and the beautifully rebranded IFSA logo! The new logo reflects our mission to lead the international onboard services industry in innovation, communication and education. Our new website redesign features a fresh, clean layout and vastly improved user experience. IFSA’s content is more accessible than ever, as the new design is easily viewed on mobile devices.

Members will enjoy the new and improved membership directory, the improved news section, and our new calendar of events. Members can now update their own contact information to make sure they stay connected. We encourage you to visit it often, as we continue to update it with valuable industry information.

Beware of Hotel Scammers

IFSA has been notified that some members have been contacted by various third party housing services offering assistance with reservations for the 2015 EXPO in Portland at area hotels. 

Please be aware that no third party housing service is authorized to act on behalf of either IFSA or the Doubletree Portland

. IFSA has secured a block of guestrooms for the EXPO, and there is plenty of availability at this time.

We highly encourage you to book within the official IFSA hotel block. More information on hotel booking is available here.

In addition, IFSA has not provided any of these services with any sort of contact lists from which to solicit business. If you should receive a solicitation, simply hang up and then notify Steve Gigantiello at IFSA Headquarters at
