SIAL Middle East and The Mercury Awards Welcome IFSA!

 

Last month, our very own Pam Suder-Smith and CEO Joe Leader were given the honor of representing IFSA at the 2018 Mercury Awards. During this three-day event, Ms. Suder-Smith gave a highlight of our association and shared the value that we bring to the onboard industry. Ms. Suder-Smith also served as a judge for this prestigious award. Mr. Leader gave an insightful presentation on IFSA, and the upcoming and ongoing activities within the Government Affairs and Education Committee, highlighting the global impact these efforts have on airlines, caterers and suppliers around the world. Government Affairs & Education Committee Update

 

IFSA Government Affairs and Education Committee (GAEC) had a very successful meeting at IFSA Headquarters in Atlanta, GA this month, welcoming its new Board liaison, Dirk Kleer of LSG Sky Chef, and its newest member, Andrea Pratt of AMI. The Committee continues to monitor industry positions on new food and beverage labeling regulations, food contact materials, ramp safety, regulated garbage, special meal codes, and Halal guidelines.In addition, the committee is working on Version 5 of the World Food Safety Guidelines.GAEC's European Union Task Force continues to address regulatory issues specific to Europe.
