Communications Advisory Council

The Communications Advisory Council works to ensure members have a unified voice on matters concerning the interests of the onboard services industry. The Council is comprised of seasoned marketing and communications professionals within the industry that represent the various segments of IFSA membership. This group assists with the development and distribution of communications, responding to media inquiries, and initiatives to enhance communication to members.

 

Conference Planning Committee

Conference Planning Committee is tasked with the responsibility of overseeing and an annual conference and exhibition of the highest quality with solid educational content and networking opportunities. Along with IFSA staff, this committee spends a full year developing the next year's conference program.  To ensure a well-rounded conference, the committee looks for active IFSA members from supplier companies, caterers and airlines.

 

Education Committee

The Education Committee is tasked with developing the educational programs and services at the EXPO as well as at other IFSA and partner events as identified. Programs will feature a wide variety of industry speakers, presentations, panels and forum discussions. These valuable educational programs and insights offered to IFSA members will foster the international exchange of ideas, new information, industry best practices and the latest market trends.

 

Government Affairs and Education Committee

The mission of the IFSA Government Affairs and Education Committee (GAEC) is to provide information, guidance and education to the IFSA membership regarding food safety and security. GAEC maintains an open dialogue with appropriate worldwide regulatory and legislative bodies in order to represent IFSA’s interests before these groups and will work cooperatively toward the common goal for public health, safety and security. GAEC ensures the educational needs of the membership related to these issues are provided through the development of training materials and facilitation of workshops. Education tools, such as IFSA’s World Food Safety Guidelines (WFSG), authored by industry experts and members, have been adopted by airlines and caterers throughout the globe as THE comprehensive resource for exceeding global food safety standards. The European Union Task Force is part of GAEC’s purview and focuses on regulatory issues within the European Union and meets with stakeholders to ensure understanding of the airline catering industry’s issues and positions.

 

Ideation Task Force

The Ideation Task Force is responsible for managing special projects that add additional value to IFSA membership. Successful initiatives include Regional Events and the Compass Awards program.

 

Membership Task Force

IFSA leadership recognizes that the most effective marketing tool is peer to peer recruitment. This Task Force is focused on membership strategy, including recruiting new IFSA members and ensuring renewals. 

 

Sponsorship Committee

The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for the overall coordination of soliciting sponsorships for the association including the EXPO and Regional Events. The Committee is charged with increasing the association’s sponsorship revenue and providing sponsors with a substantial ROI.
